So it looks like $49.95 for Casper 6 and another $9.95 for a start up disk, is that the two things I need? Also, as far as calling someone via phone, I have unlimited long distance on my land line so when we get going I can just call one of you on your land line. I guess I also need to figure out this teamviewer thing after I get casper and look over the tut and info in the box.

Seems odd that one needs a start up disk in addition to the regular program. I would think that should be part of the whole package since that's kind of the point of this program.

Thank you Mike and Birdie for all the help. Using Teamviewer really helped alleviate missteps and misunderstanding. I picked Mikes brain and didn't even make a dent, but hopefully will quickly get to understand the inner workings of this computer. Now I have a clone and know how to use it. Watch out world, here I come. LOL

Now you think you can talk my brother into that? I have not had a lot of luck doing that

Sorry I did not get to be on the phone with you but Kenny was home and decided he wanted to watch a movie about that time. I do not think you wanted to listen to that too.

Glad you got it all done and taken care of.

Birdie, that bro of yours is a hard nut to crack. LOL But he is softening with age. Heck, he's on FB now, that's a start. HAHA

I got a question for ya. I have two restore points back on the 1st and 2nd of Aug. Since we did all that work last night on the 3rd, if I go back to my restore points would that make us have to reinstall anything or it ignore them like my other programs? Reason is that for some reason I was noticing some instability earlier yesterday before we did the cloning and today it is even worse. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the cloning, but I'm just not sure what happened after my restore points and what we did last night.

It took forever to turn on my computer this morning and also to open some of my programs and sites. I'm not sure if you can use the TV to see some obvious conflicts or if I should just go back to one of those restore points where things seem to be running real good. Any advice?

I've been trying to retrace my steps since I made those restore points. I didn't find much there, but one thing I had been noticing over the past few months is that sometimes my desktop internet link took forever to connect and I sometimes went to the start panel and went in from there. So I deleted my desktop links(for some reason I had two) and then drug the link from my start panel back out onto my desktop. Things have been running a bit smoother since then. I'll continue checking things out to see if I can find whatever is slowing things down. I also delete Adaware since it seemed not to work lately.

I'm not sure I'm putting this in the right thread, but my point is to make my computer as clean as possible so that in the next couple weeks when I clone again, I will have even a better run.

John if you still run Spybot it slows things down considerably. Might try removing it but then remember you have and older xp and it is going to get slower and slower probably. Mine sure did. I do not use it anymore. Just kind sits there with my printer connected and the modem and router.

Doing a system restore does not affect the clone or the clone the computer. If you do a restore and it runs better than it did at the time we cloned, we will update the clone. Should not take long

You mean my XP is alot like me, just keeps getting slower and slower with age. LOL Hey, I just tried to uninstall Spybot and it wouldn't let me do it. Weird. Do I need a special program like with Norton to uninstall it?

I reinstalled Spybot then was able to uninstall it. I'll see how things go now.

Hi Jade,

Been a busy day here for me. Any way you are on the right track. We can clone again at any time you feel there is an improvement and just before some thing goes wrong. hehe.

Well at least that is what we would like to happen.

Seriously, cloning again tonight would probably take less than 20 minutes if you would like to do so. Give me a call.

Thanks, but I'm going to play with this a bit more. A little tweak here, a little tweak there. Probably not a good idea since I'm the one that always gives that bolt one last tug. POP LOL I seem to have it running pretty good after it's been on for awhile so I think it has to do with something in the start up. Too many things working in the background or something. I'm also trying to do some house keeping and get my files in better order.

By the way, I realized I was reading my disk analyzer wrong. I thought I had 227.5 gb left out of 250. But that was actually the usable gb on my 250. I'm not quite sure what free space I had when I started, but after deleting things I am down up to 81.5. So I'm looking pretty good at this point with 146 used and 81 free. I've got a bit more time and space to play with for awhile.(unless I blow this thing up playing with it. ;-))

John, Ross is real good with getting start up faster and taking things off that do not need start with windows. Give him a shout and he will do a Teamveiwer with you when you both have time
