A friend of mine received and email telling her if she wanted to see model photo's of him "to click on the link below" she did so giving her password to her email address and so everyone there has been sent the same email but telling people it is her pictures to see. It came to me but I thought it was suspicious, even tho it stated it was from her, because it asked for my password I blocked the sender and deleted the email.
She is now wondering what she can do so that website can not come back and get into her email and cause trouble, any ideas ?

Keep cool

Tell her to try changing her password. Also tell her to never respond and give out any of her information if asked to do so via email or such, unless she has initiated a procedure - such as signing up for a site, banking etc.

If changing the password will not stop the problem, she needs to set up a new email account. If the one compromised is with her ISP, she needs to possibly contact them to help her set up a new one and delete the old one. If she uses OE or any other computer based email program, she can move her safe saved email and addresses over to the new account. :)
